About Me
Welcome to my personal website, EvanSiroky.com. I'm a somewhat regular guy living in Tacoma, Washington, USA. I've recently moved into my condo which is about 5 blocks away from my job. On a typical workday you may see me walking to and from work or perhaps picking up stuff at the grocery store. Perhaps you may also see me bicycling around on one of my numerous bicycles.
Since the summer of 2008, first as an intern and now as an associate, I've been working at PTV America which is a transportation planning consulting firm. It's a pretty interesting job to me since we are usually testing out new software features as we work on our projects. Although there is increasingly less work on public transit I'm certainly getting a kick out of pushing our software and computers to the breaking limits.
And that also brings up my passion for transportation, or rather alternative transportation as Americans would call it. I dislike traveling in automobiles. I love bicycling, walking and public transit. That picture over there is of me moving part of all of my belongs by bicycle to my new condo. Although it is quite depressing to me that most Americans can't fathom traveling or living without an automobile, I am hopeful and making strides to help more people share the joy I have in using modes other than the automobile to move about life.
